Black Water deals with the mental struggles of addiction, especially those which nest invisibly and persistently over decades.
Addiction to attention, toxic and dangerous temptations we learned from society and/or violence, traumata which guide us the wrong way and finally the urge to hurt oneself just to satisfy a requirement we wouldn't know of, if we weren't conditioned to believe in its existence.
Black Water introduces a conceptional journey by outlining basic human fears as a preparation for a deep-dive into the general question "What defines being human?"
lyrics
I pray for the light
Which disappears from the surface of this world
Black phlegm begins to macerate
Suffuses more and more, a toxic deadly shore
But I can't quit this poison
I am an addicted person
I close my eyes and let it pour
I never see a reason
I'll never be okay
Devour light like brandy
It's getting heavier to take
I fight all my demons at once again
But I cannot tame
The pressure in my lungs
Am I the one to abandon the throne?
No water for the flames
Always ending up the same
This searing fever
I am caught in the middle
Feel the heat and the shiver
Take it all till the last drop
Let it pour in these veins
I can feel every moment
Every grain, every second
I will dive again in blackened water
I dive again in unknown water
No!
I choke on blackened water
Wells out of my sewn up mouth
I can't breathe, I can't see
Disrupt this entity
Oh!
And I caught myself being down on my knees
Praying for peace
To something I know, it doesn't exist
Lost in skewed cogitation
A billion combinations
There's no solution for an incomplete equation
Will you be my unknown?
But I cannot tame
The pressure in my lungs
Am I the one to abandon the throne?
No water for the flames
Always ending up the same
This searing fever

i like the Rick Beato videos and he had shown the track electric sunrise in his video "How To Count Odd Meters". I was very impressed from this song and searched for the whole album and found it at bandcamp ;-) hpaydt
One of the top Progressive Metalcore groups out there... Fantastic music throughout their whole catalog and as they continue to grow and perfecting their sound each album. Also growing and maturing into a real force to be reckoned with in Modern Metal... enemyofthenight
Supplementing sasscore insanity with bolstered vocals and pop-punk songcraft, the California band are kicking ass and breaking boundaries. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 21, 2024
“… And Everything In Between” was a great introduction to the band, and after having listened to it 2975295 times in a relatively short while I could appreciate “Artificial Void” (which is perhaps a bit more intricate?) better. Alice M.
